I have quite a few, but there’s a lot of dust here

Which of these would upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7 and maintain your files and settings? Pick two.

A) Run Windows 7 Setup from the Windows XP desktop

B) Use Windows Easy Transfer

C) Upgrade to Windows Vista, then upgrade to Windows 7

D) Reboot using the Windows 7 installation media

E) Perform a system image Windows Backup, install Windows 7, and restore from the backup

F) How many floppy disks do you have?

The answer: B) Use Windows Easy Transfer and C) Upgrade to Windows Vista, then upgrade to Windows 7

Since there’s no direct in-place upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 7, you’ll have to use other tools or techniques if you want to keep all of your files and settings. Windows Easy Transfer is an easy way to backup and restore files and settings. A two-step upgrade from Windows XP to Windows Vista and then Windows Vista to Windows 7 will work, but it will require two separate upgrades and some additional Windows Vista installation media.
