My ini is on the outies

During the process of adding a second operating system to a computer, you managed to corrupt the Windows XP boot.ini file. Now the computer won’t boot, so you can’t get back into the operating system to correct the file. What program can be run from the Recovery Console to automatically rebuild the boot.ini file?

A) fixboot

B) bootcfg

C) cfgboot

D) bootfix

E) Ever notice how there’s a ringing noise in your ears when you realize you’ve broken your computer?

The answer: B) bootcfg

Running bootcfg /rebuild will scan your computer for Windows installations and will create a new boot.ini entry. After rebooting, you’ll have a new entry during startup that should properly start the operating system.
